Grindstone Lighthouse on Lake Huron Private Beach

Spent a weekend with family, absolutely loved the tiki bar near the beach. We ended up spending a ton of time together at the tiki bar including enjoying the Detroit Lions opening game. Great addition! Disappointed that the description stated there was a Blackstone on-site but when we arrived there wasn’t one, which affected several of our planned meals. Loved that there were plenty of beach toys for the kids.Good restaurant walking distance from the house.Entire house could use a good deep cleaning, including the windows.

House was perfectly equipped for our family of 14. Lots of areas to spread out, including the outdoor hanger filled with many games and outdoor activities. Beach was nice and water was warmer than expected. We brought water shoes for the expected rocky floor. We all had a great time.

We had the most wonderful stay in Port Austin for our winter illustrator retreat. There were 10 of us, and the house was the perfect size — comfortable, clean, and spacious enough for everyone to spread out and create.The surroundings were beautiful, with a peaceful view of the lake that felt especially magical in the winter. I can only imagine how amazing it must be in the summer!Our host was excellent and incredibly helpful when we had a small issue — everything was handled quickly and kindly.10/10 — we would absolutely stay here again.

Fabulous house and location for our large group. Only glitch was two stressful days: doorlock entry problems and no heat on a chilly night, several hours to reach Mgr, repairman that night, part ordered for next day, adjusted plans to accommodate repair. Group appreciated offer to stay extra night as compensation but no one was able to adjust their work schedules.Still great stay, great memories....

The property is knock out beautiful. Everything including the up to date interior, the open lawn, the tiki bar, and the private beach was pristine.
